Sac in fall: The Man Show

Baked orzo with cheese, served at Sacandaga Bible Conference.

For the third time in three weeks, men are taking over the dining hall, and I couldn’t be happier. I love the change of pace.

When a group of pastors joins us today, it actually will be the fifth time since Labor Day we fed a men-only group, which is departure from previous years, when we’d have maybe two or three men’s groups all year.

Man food to us is hearty, slow and dark. Braised meats, dark beans, deep spicing. Kids wouldn’t appreciate it, and other groups — you know who you are — seek brighter flavors.
